We are at the intersection of three major trial systems. No group too small, no
group too large.

The Best of both worlds!
Roach Pond is no live bait fishing it measures 7 miles long
and 130 ft deep. Trophies are on display at the Trading Post. Boat,
motors and canoes are available.
Fish available in Roach Pond:
- Brook Trout
- Landlocked Salmon
- Lake Trout
- Splake
- White Fish
The famous Roach River begins at the dam on First Roach Pond and runs 6 1/2
Miles to Spencer Bay on Moosehead Lake. Kokadjo Cabins are the only commercial
camps on Roach River, which is fly fishing CATCH AND RELEASE ONLY.

HUNTING
Everybody claims they have the best hunting in Maine. Let's look at the record.
No area in Maine consistently produces bigger deer then here, period.

Hunting supplies are available in the Trading Post

Crated hunting dogs are allowed in our Cabins
- Resident & Non-Resident hunting licenses are available at
the Trading Post
- We are a State licensed tagging station

We also accommodate upland bird hunting and rabbit hunting.
ODDS & ENDS
Kokadjo Camps are the nearest accommodation for ice fishing on Caribou,
Chesuncook, and Lobster Lakes. It's a short day trip to Baxter Park, West Branch
of the Penobscot River and Ripogenus Dam.
The kids can dangle a worm in Roach Pond or swim while Dad fishes Roach
River.
Bird & Moose Watching and More:
- A little over a mile from your camp is Lazy
Tom Bog, which has the highest concentration of moose in Maine - that's
according to IFW. Bring your camera because you WILL get a
picture of one!
Hiking & X-Country Skiing:
There are 4 marked trails accessible from Kokadjo Cabins:
- Kineo trail
- Little Spencer

- Big Spencer
trail
- Number 4 Mountain trail
There are other mountains without
official trails on them. You may also pickup the Appalachian
Trail at Whitecap Mountain and follow it to Baxter
Jet ski's are not permitted on First Roach Pond.
